A Mississippi native...Louisiana hybrid

About me

Welcome, I’m a self taught cook, blogger, mom and world traveler! My passion for cooking became evident as a young girl growing up in Mississippi watching my mother and grandmother prepare meals. I fell in love with the idea of making art with food. When I cook, I don’t see food… I see something beautiful. The thought of bringing joy to others and uniting families is the best feeling in the world. My taste in food spans across a varied selection of cultural food preparations which incorporates the freshest ingredients that are delightful to the palate. The secret to a great chef is that there are no real measurements.

I have learned that as a cook, following a recipe never quite tastes as delicious as when you cook by free will. Allow your mind, your hands and your belief that you’ve added just the right amount of a certain ingredient.

When your meal is complete and you take that first bite, it’s like you’re tasting the best meal on earth. Growing up in Natchez, Mississippi, family ties to Louisiana and being a graduate of Southern University and A&M College, served as the catalyst for my interest in cooking.

(South Africa)

My passion for learning and creating the most appealing and delicious meals grew as I began to discover a love for not only southern comfort foods, but also a variety of cuisines without the hesitance of experimenting with a specific set of cooking traditions and practices.

I enjoy crossing all cultural platforms and creating the best tasting meals that are fireworks to the taste buds. On a more personal note, I love bringing families together and I feel the best way to do that is with food. I’m so glad you’re here and thanks for visiting!! I can’t wait to share all of the recipes I love with you!

With Love!
